Bahrain Property Law · Tenancy

What are my rights as a landlord in Bahrain?

The law protects the landlord's core interests: eviction for two consecutive months of unpaid rent, for unauthorised subletting or assignment, for overcrowding or improper use, for a 25-year-old building being rebuilt, or to occupy the property as your own residence.

Law No. 27 of 2014 is often described as tenant-friendly, but its eviction grounds give landlords clear, provable routes to recover a property from a defaulting or misbehaving tenant - through the Rent Disputes Committee rather than self-help.

The landlord's obligations are equally clear: register the lease within a month (the fee is yours), respect the increase caps and notice rules, and hold no more than one month's deposit and three months' advance.
