Between BD 1 and BD 5 for residential leases, and BD 5 to BD 10 for properties leased for other purposes - fees set by ministerial order under Law No. 27 of 2014, and paid by the landlord.
For the price of a coffee, registration buys access to every protection in the Property Rent Law: the rent caps, the eviction rules, the deposit limits and the Rent Disputes Committee itself.
It must happen within one month of the lease being issued, and amendments must be registered too. If the landlord drags his feet, the tenant can register and deduct the fee from the rent.
