Who resolves rent disputes in Bahrain?

The Rent Disputes Committee, established under Law No. 27 of 2014. It handles disputes between landlords and tenants - rent increases, evictions, deposits - but only for registered lease agreements.

The Committee is the enforcement arm of everything in the Property Rent Law: a tenant challenging an oversized rent increase, or a landlord pursuing a tenant two months in arrears, both go through it rather than the ordinary courts.

The one door-key is registration. The Committee shall not accept cases arising from unregistered leases, which is why registering within one month of signing matters more than any other clause in the contract.
