Bahrain Family Leisure Company (Bahrain Bourse ticker: FAMILY) has announced a new board of directors following completion of its reverse merger with Travel Hospitality Holding, a subsidiary of Dividend Gate Capital specialising in hospitality and entertainment.
Mohamed Nizam Khunji chairs the new board, with Mahmood Mohamed Ali as vice-chairman, joined by non-executive and independent members appointed for a three-year term under Bahrain's Commercial Companies Law. The share-swap transaction brings Dividend Gate Capital in as a principal shareholder.
The company describes itself as one of the largest listed hospitality and entertainment groups in Bahrain, with a portfolio of more than 20 brands spanning quick-service dining, fine dining and cafes, plus a central kitchen, run on a centralised operations platform covering finance, HR, procurement and logistics.
The new board's stated agenda is growth - continued expansion in Bahrain and into GCC markets.
Why it belongs on a property investor's radar: hospitality groups scaling up in Bahrain are a demand signal for the retail and F&B units inside the mixed-use developments foreign buyers invest in - more operators competing for space supports the rental case.
