Tamkeen, Bahrain's labour fund, has launched upgraded versions of two flagship programmes - "Tamakkan" for skills training and "Qiyada" for leadership hiring - aimed at preparing Bahrainis for senior roles in the private sector.

Tamakkan funds accredited professional, technical and leadership training: 100 per cent of programme costs covered for jobseekers, up to 70 per cent for employed applicants, and 50 per cent for company-sponsored training, drawn from a continuously updated list of supported professional certifications.

Qiyada offers companies a 30 per cent wage subsidy for 12 months when they hire Bahrainis into management and leadership roles, on salaries of up to BD 2,500 a month.

The programmes are pitched at aligning training with what the labour market actually needs - and both fit Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030 emphasis on a private sector led by qualified national talent.

The investor read: state-funded programmes that raise private-sector salaries and leadership hiring feed directly into housing demand - the mid-career professionals these schemes target are the same tenants and buyers active in Bahrain's residential market.
