Can GCC citizens buy property anywhere in Bahrain?

Yes. Citizens of GCC states can own property anywhere in the Kingdom, exactly like Bahrainis - the nine-zone freehold map only applies to non-GCC nationalities.

For Saudi, Kuwaiti, Emirati, Qatari and Omani buyers, the whole island is the market: villas in Saar and Hamala, plots in Riffa, or apartments in the freehold towers - all of it is open.

The buying mechanics are the same as for anyone else: title at the SLRB, the one-time 1.7% transfer fee, and none of Bahrain's famous absent taxes - no annual property tax, no rental income tax, no capital gains tax.
