Bahrain Property Law · Off-Plan & RERA

What is RERA in Bahrain?

RERA is Bahrain's Real Estate Regulatory Authority - the government body that licenses developers, brokers and sales agents, registers off-plan projects, and enforces the escrow rules that protect buyer money.

For a buyer, RERA shows up at every checkpoint that matters: the project you reserve should be RERA-registered, the developer licensed, your instalments in an escrow account, and the person selling to you individually licensed.

RERA also runs continuing professional development for licensed agents, so the licence is an ongoing standard, not a one-time stamp.
